In the city centre, less than a 30 second walk from our campus, The Glassworks is privately managed by Homes for Students. 

The flats have four, five or six bedrooms, each with en suite facilities. They also have a cooker, induction hob, induction pan set, microwave, toaster and kettle. The lounge and dining area has a breakfast bar and stools, corner sofas and a coffee table, along with a notice board and television point.

There is a television in each lounge, with additional TVs in the common room and a projection screen in the cinema room. However, the TV license is not provided and flatmates will have to buy one if they watch the TV. There is also a vacuum cleaner, dustpan and brush, mop and bucket, and iron and ironing board in each flat.

  2. Rent and costs

    2025/26

    Standard en suite, £161.00 per week, inclusive of bills.

    UK/EU studentsÌýtotal: £6,923.00.

    International studentsÌýtotal: £7,084.00.

    For all students who opt to not pay in full upon booking, a UK guarantor is required. The guarantor must be either:

    • An organisation in the business of providing guarantees for tenants and approved by Homes for Students (such as Housing Hand) or
    • An individual resident in the United Kingdom who is in full-time employment, self-employed or receiving a private pension (individuals in receipt only of state pensions and/or benefits are not accepted as guarantors).

    International students without one must pay the rent in full at the time of booking (Ìýcan act as a guarantor for both home and international students).

  3. Rent instalments 2025/26

    On booking you can pay in one upfront payment, three instalments, or monthly via the Housing Hand option. Standard en suite, payment in full:

    • 1 August 2025 - £6,723.00 (UK/EU students); £6,884.00 (International students)

  4. Additional (and important) rent considerations

    Please be sure to check payment dates and amounts prior to making your booking. Not all payment options fall in line with your student loan. Your student loan is not usually deposited until after you have enrolled on your course. If you have chosen to pay in full or monthly via Housing Hand, the first instalment is payable before arrival.
