Employability DMU aims to help you become what employers need – a work-ready graduate with professional experience. Our industry-relevant courses are designed to equip you to succeed in a competitive workplace.
Placements All DMU students have the opportunity to go on long or short placements to gain professional skills in the workplace. Opportunities range from business insight visits to paid sandwich year placements working for an employer.
Internships DMU offers internships with an emphasis on on-the-job training. The Careers Team delivers three paid internship schemes to our students and recent graduates: ACE, Frontrunners and Graduate Champions. These are flexible opportunities that work with your university schedule, giving you the chance to study and gain work experience at the same time.
Mentoring Our Employability Mentoring provides students with the opportunity to make connections with and learn from industry professionals, in virtual, group and one to one mentoring settings.
Enterprise DMU is ranked 8th in the UK for the highest number of graduate start-ups supported by our Enterprise Placement Year, where you could have 12 months to develop your business idea.
Block teaching Benefit from block teaching, where most students study one subject at a time. A simple timetable will allow you to really engage with your learning, receive regular feedback and assessments, get to know your course mates and enjoy a better study-life balance.
Sustainability DMU is the only higher education institution in Britain to be a global hub for one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals – SDG 16 to promote peace, justice and strong institutions. We are helping to turn words and targets into affordable technology, while changing the behaviour of people and organisations.
Leicester DMU is located in the heart of the city of Leicester, named one of the UK’s entrepreneurial hotspots. Our Leicester1000 (also known as L1K) project aims to place 1,000 DMU graduates into 1,000 highly skilled Leicester jobs when they finish their studies.
