EHDA Network

The  Electrohydrodynamic Atomisation (EHDA) Network supports advances in manufacturing of bio- and other pharmaceuticals for drug delivery and pharmaceutical systems which are required to fit Quality by Design (QbD) models; enabling greater control and in built scrutiny.

The current state of the art in EHDA technology provide excellent potential for various dosage forms and platforms (e.g. electrospinning, electrospraying, bubbling and even 3D printing) and are favourable due to numerous highly sought  benefits (from ambient processes to scalability).

The growing emergence of this technology is clearly evident in the UK and on the global scale and this network will seek to develop several timely initiatives and/or collaborations to bridge the gap between industry and academia and also develop more advanced dosage form development in the pharmaceutical and biomaterial fields, whilst also keeping industrial perspectives and preferences intact.

The EHDA network

The EHDA network brings together specialists from academia and industry to advance the technology through several means.

The network has planned a wide range of activities and initiatives (meetings, conferences, workshops, collaborative project initiations, special themed journal issues and interactions with established bodies) which will lead to significant developments in an area of increasing global interest (EHDA processes).
