Frequently asked questions

Booking an activity

  1. Do I need to sign up to a session to attend?

Yes. You can only attend DMUsport activity if you have booked first. This includes club training, strength and conditioning and DMUactive sessions.

For instructions on how to book a space at one of our sessions, please click here.

Some club training sessions include transport. If you require DMUsport transport to attend the session, you will also need to book on to this on the DMU Leisure app as a separate booking.

  2. How do I sign up to a session?

If you would like to attend any of our sessions, you must book a space before attending. This allows us to maintain a safe number of participants at our sessions.

Membership is completely free for the first week of term (Monday 2 October to Sunday 8 October) to allow students to try out all of the activity we have on offer here at DMU (unless representing DMU in competition). Following these dates, you must purchase a club membership to book a club or strength and conditioning training session.

DMUactive sessions are completely free and anyone can book a space!

You can easily cancel your booking if you change your mind.

For instructions on how to book a space at one of our sessions, please click here.

If you do not sign up in advance, unfortunately you won't be granted access to the session.

  3. What if I sign up to a session and then can no longer attend?

You will need to cancel your session via the DMU Leisure app at least an hour before the session start time.

For DMUactive opportunities, if you book a space and fail to show up, a £2 charge may be added to your account and this may affect your ability to book future sessions.

For instructions on how to cancel your booking, please click here.

  4. Can I book a session for someone else?

You will only be able to book a session for yourself, not others. We cannot accept group bookings.

Memberships

  1. Can I only join one sports club at DMU?

Absolutely not! During October you can try out any DMUsport club for free! You may discover a range of new sports and maybe even find a new passion and pick up some new skills. After this, it costs £40 to join a club, with just £10 for each additional club thereafter. This means you could join two clubs for £50, or even three for £60! The key consideration is to make sure you're able to balance all of your responsibilities throughout the week!
  2. How do I sign up to a club membership?

Membership is completely free for the first week of term (Monday 2 October to Sunday 8 October) to allow students to try out all of the activity we have on offer here at DMU (unless representing DMU in competition).

Following these dates, you must purchase a club membership through the DMU Leisure App or to book a club or strength and conditioning training session.
