Potentially lifesaving CPR training will be taking place on campus on Thursday 13 February, and it’s your chance to get involved. The free sessions will take place throughout the day in the Breathing Space in the Portland Building on campus.
What is the RevivR training?
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) created an online version of their CPR training that aimed to teach people how to deliver potentially lifesaving first aid in just 15 minutes.
What will happen in the on-campus RevivR session?
The RevivR training on campus is a guided walkthrough of the online session, giving you real-time guidance from an expert. The sessions are engaging, and can help you learn a key skill which could, one day, help save a life.
The sessions will hopefully contribute to making DMU a Heartsafe Campus. The idea of a Heartsafe Campus was created by the parents of Adam Redfern, a DMU graduate, who sadly passed away following a cardiac arrest. The initiative aims to increase the number of people on campus who are able to provide CPR in the case of an emergency through training such as the RevivR training.
When will the sessions take place?
There are four sessions taking place throughout the day – each lasts an hour:
- 10am-11am
- 11am-12pm
- 2pm-3pm
- 3pm-4pm
.
