DMU Women's Staff Network hosted a series of thought-provoking events celebrating DMU's International Women's Day (IWD) on Wednesday 8 March and we'd like to say a big 'thank you' to everyone who attended and helped to .
IWD (part of Women's History Month taking place from Wednesday 1 March to Friday 31 March) is celebrated each year across the globe highlighting the achievements of women and raising awareness of gender equality.
The theme this year was #EmbraceEquity, highlighting that equal opportunities are not enough and more needs to be done in order for gender equity to be part of every society's DNA.
Nicky Hudson and Shalini Bisani, co-chairs of DMU Women said: "We've already had some great events for this year's International Women's Day and would like to thank everyone who has attended the events so far and helped us to raise awareness about gender equality and to #EmbraceEquity. There are still many more events to come, so please do sign up if you can."
