̨ÍåÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ (DMU) has a history of providing distance learning qualifications in a variety of subject areas, including human resources, law, pharmaceutics, youth work, cyber security and engineering. Our courses support local and international students and our diverse community consists of students located in over 85 countries. Distance Learning is a flexible way to study for a qualification. It allows you to fit your learning in around your lifestyle and other commitments, but still achieve the same qualifications as you would by doing traditional campus-based study. You can study at your own pace and in a place that’s convenient for you while having access to an extensive range of online learning materials, and benefitting from experienced academics and our award-winning employability service.

Whether you are a recent graduate, or an experienced professional hoping to embark on a new subject area, diversify your skills, or specialise in a particular area of interest, our courses are designed with you in mind, providing you with the flexibility to study online and take your career further.

Many of our distance learning postgraduate courses are also accredited and offer the opportunity to study at different levels, including a master's, diploma and PG Cert, providing you with further options.

Why study a Distance Learning course?

How does Distance Learning work?

When you study a distance learning course at DMU, the majority of your learning will take place online, so you won’t need to travel or attend traditional face-to-face lectures or tutorials.

You’ll have access to a range of useful online learning materials that have been created specifically for students working remotely and during their own time. These materials typically include a combination of engaging online lectures, activities related to your chosen course, and carefully selected reading materials. For most courses, all you’ll need is a computer and an internet connection to carry out your studies.

Throughout your course you’ll be supported by academic and personal tutors, who are there to offer guidance, mark your assignments and give you an extra helping hand whenever you need it. You’ll be able to contact your tutor via email and phone. As well as that, you’ll have access to a full range of student support services such as our award-winning careers and employability service and our health and wellbeing hub, Healthy DMU.
