TNE Summer School

̨ÍåÂãÁÄÖ±²¥'s (DMU) Summer School is offered through the Global Partnerships Unit and is designed to be interactive, fun and engaging. The programme runs in the UK every summer on the DMU Leicester campus. 

It is a non-credit-bearing international experience programme aiming to enrich studies, broaden cultural horizons, develop key skills and a shared understanding of global citizenship. This is achieved through a combination of workshops, sessions and field trips. 

The 2025 summer school starts on Monday 21 July 2025 and ends on Wednesday 30 July 2025.

Programme overview

  • Welcome and orientation session and a welcome dinner
  • Sessions and workshops on employability, sustainability and culture
  • Language, cultural exchange and working in multicultural teams to present a project
  • Social programme including bowling and karaoke to build friendships and have fun! 
  • Industry or local organization visit and day trips
  • A day trip to London with a visit to the DMU London campus 
  • Farewell evening to celebrate achievements and present Certificates of Participation 

Fees and payment

The fee for the 2025 Summer School is £425. Please note, flights, visas and airport transfers are not included in this price.  

  • A deposit of 50% of the Summer School fee (£200) is due by 31 January 2025. This deposit is non-refundable after 14 days of deposit payment deadline. 
  • The remaining balance of the Summer School fee (£225) is due at the end of March 2025.

  2. How to apply

    Eligibility

    The Summer School is open to all students studying on a DMU Programme at one of DMU’s TNE Partner Institutes. In order to apply, students must be aged 18 or above by the time the programme start date. Eligibility criteria is dependent on your registration at one of the DMU Partner Institutes.

    Details of any additional specific eligibility criteria for each Summer School is communicated directly to the DMU Partner Institute.

    Application process

    Complete the Registration as defined by your Institute (i.e., DMU’s Partner Institute) by the deadline specified.

    Upon payment of the Summer School fee deposit, you will receive a confirmation email to confirm the status of your application.

    Once availability and eligibility is verified by your Institute to the GPU Summer Schools Team, an Offer Letter will be issued.

  3. Accommodation

    • DMU owned and managed accommodation will be provided to students at New Wharf Hall which is on the edge of campus with a large supermarket nearby.
    • The halls are fully furnished, offering private rooms, shared kitchens and bathrooms, laundry facilities and internet access.
    • Accommodation Fee: £350. This fee will be paid directly to the accommodation team and instructions on how to make the payment will be provided to you upon acceptance onto the programme.



 

The atmosphere in Leicester, friendly staff at DMU, highly motivated friends... all of them inspired me. The itinerary is perfect. It was a life-changing experience for me.
