A world leader in evaluating higher education performance has rated ̨ÍåÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ Leicester (DMU) a 5-star ‘excellent’ institution.
The QS star rating is an internationally-recognised mark of quality in which education experts rate universities across a broad range of criteria.
DMU joins 15 other universities in the UK and just over 100 universities worldwide in being granted the 5-star accolade.
DMU not only got a 5-star ‘excellent’ rating overall but also scored the maximum five stars in key criteria including teaching, employability, internationalisation, academic development and facilities.
QS says a university with the 5-star rating ‘is generally world class in almost all categories. Such institutions enjoy a high reputation internationally, attracting a high number of international students from all over the world.
“These universities have cutting-edge facilities…” and “…a highly qualified faculty offering curriculums that leave students ready for work in many industries”.
Francis Glover, Deputy Director of International at DMU, said: “I am delighted the university has received a 5-star accreditation through the QS Stars audit.
“This is a culmination of a lot of hard work from our academics and professional services staff to ensure the university is achieving great things for our students.

The 5-star rating for inclusiveness included maximum scores awarded for student diversity and disabled access.
In the facilities category, DMU scored top marks for accommodation, library expenditure – which is more than £250 per student per year - health support and the wide range of De Montfort Student’s Union clubs and societies. Campus facilities scored 19 out of 20 and sports facilities scored 18 out of 20.
The 5-star rating for internationalisation included maximum points for international collaborations, international support and international student diversity.
