Psychology courses at ̨ÍåÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ Leicester (DMU) have secured top five spots in both an influential league table and a national survey.
They were rated third in the country for overall satisfaction in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2016 and number one - out of 116 universities offering similar courses - for the sense of personal development students felt.
In addition, The Times and Sunday Times University Guide 2017 ranked them fourth for teaching quality and seventh for student experience.
Students and graduates credit the lecturers' passion for their areas of research and the confidence instilled in them with being behind these great results for courses including , and .
Jade Barnshaw studied Psychology with Criminology, which achieved a 100 per cent overall satisfaction rate in the NSS. Jade is now National Citizen Service Co-ordinator for Catch22 - a social and personal development programme for 15- to 17-year-olds - in Shropshire and Staffordshire.
She said: "The lecturers are so passionate about their area of expertise that it inspires students to work harder and value their feedback.
"The staff believe in you and want you to succeed, for me that made the course more enjoyable. I became more determined and motivated as a result of their confidence in me."

The NSS data, gathered from final-year students at universities across the country, also placed DMU's Psychology courses in the top 10 for all other areas surveyed, including teaching, support, assessment and learning resources.
Jasmin Gill, in her final year of Psychology, which scored 97 per cent for overall student satisfaction, said: "At DMU I discovered my identity and fell in love with the course, especially when surrounded by lecturers who are so passionate about their areas of research.
"Lecturers make it clear it is a professional field you can go far in and they fill you with confidence."
Dr Steven Lyttle, deputy head of the School of Applied Sciences, said the whole faculty was "thrilled and proud" of the results, which also saw Psychology with Education Studies score 92 per cent for overall student satisfaction.
He said: "I think there are many great things about being a Psychology student here that explain our success.
"First, we have a really approachable and very organised group of staff who work hard as a team to place students at the heart of all that they do.
"We like to see our students and student representatives as partners with shared goals - we want the very best for students and we listen to, and work with, them to make sure their time at DMU is rewarding and enjoyable.
"In addition, our Psychology programmes carry professional body accreditation and we have excellent dedicated facilities to support our teaching, both of which are highly valued by students.
"And finally, we must not forget our amazing university-wide initiatives such as and #DMUlocal, which ensure that students can access fantastic opportunities working in the local community and overseas."
