Personal profile

After 7 years teaching English in Morocco, I returned to the UK in 2010 to study for an MA in English Language Teaching at DMU. I then began teaching Pre-sessional English and Aviation English with CELL from 2011, and became Academic Manager for CELL in 2013. This involved running the summer Pre-sessional Programme for international students preparing to study on DMU academic programmes, as well as teaching on the MA in ELT and commercial Aviation English programmes. In 2019, I took over as Director of CELL, and helped to steer us through the challenges of the pandemic and the sudden shift to online teaching and learning. I am proud of the programme that we have developed since 2020, and our Online Summer Pre-sessional Programme remains a sector-leading programme, with most students continuing to study online.
